From Jeff Aronow: Tim Bradley says Manny Pacquiao has bugs in. discovered Errol Spence Jr.s game he thinks he can use. That explains that Pacquiao decided to take on Spence at Fox Sports PPV on August 21st
Bradley isn’t sure who to choose in the battle between Spence and Pacquiao, as both have weaknesses that they can exploit.
Bradley noticed that Spence always positions his head in the same place when attacking his opponents. He says Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs) will see this tendency with Errol and will try to capitalize on it.
What becomes difficult for Pacquiao is dealing with the size, power, and relentless pressure of Spence. He makes an average of 75 punches per round and are shots with tremendous power.
Pacquiao needs to use more defense in this fight to avoid being beaten up and stopped.
Spence is slow and vulnerable
“Pacquiao is one of those people who chooses people who he thinks have a small advantage,” Bradley told SnowqueenLA.
“I think he sees Spence being a little slower than what he’s used to fighting. Spence is southpaw, bigger you have to go as far as the favorite with Spence.
He’s the younger one, he’s the fresher one, and he puts massive pressure on the guys until the end of the fight. He throws a lot of punches.
Pacquiao hasn’t seen that in a long time, I would say. Pacquiao, the speed, the footwork, the inward and outward movement, it’ll honestly be frustrating for Spence.
Spence is doing something Pacquiao likes. He will work and then bring his head back to the center. He will wait for his opportunities. Pacquiao won’t counter with a shot.
He will counter with combinations. Combinations are coming your way, buddy [Spence], so you should be more aware of these.
You won’t just stand there and catch shots the way I see you, Spence. I understand that.
You block shots, but you won’t parry Manny Pacquiao from all the punches he throws at you.
You will come from strange angles. He’ll be here in a minute, you’ll cover up, and he’ll be over here, ”Bradley said.
There has to be a reason Pacquiao chose to fight Spence, and it could be because he looks slow and beatable. In Spence’s lat fight with Danny Garcia, he was poor.
We don’t know how much Spence cost in the car accident. It could matter. But Spence didn’t look good before his fight with Danny Garcia either.
If you compare how Spence looked like in his performance against Danny and Shawn Porter against Chris Algieri and Leonard Bundu, this is noticeable. Spence’s punch is still there, but his movement and defense have taken a blow.
Pacquiao’s clout is still fatal
“That guy [Pacquiao] is a phenomenon when it comes to counter-strikes and footwork and those quick hands, ”said Bradley. “Be aware of that. Power is the last thing a fighter has left.
“So you have to be careful with Manny Pacquiao’s clout. That left hand is a monster.
“It’s like taking a piece of metal and plugging it into an electrical outlet. It is shocking. It’s a great fight. Pacquiao definitely has a puncher chance I think.
“It depends on what he’s got at the far end of the fight. I think Pacquiao will start quickly, fade a little in the middle and then pick up again towards the end.
“Spence has another gait at the back of the fight that I believe should outlast Pacquiao.
“You never know. Pacquiao is a legend for a reason. Eighth league world champion, it’s going to be tough, I don’t know.
“I’ll give Spence a slight preference, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Pacquiao manages,” Bradley said.
Two years ago, Pacquiao’s strength and speed in 2019 against Keith Thurman were still incredible. Muscles have memories, so Pacquiao should rebuild any muscle tissue that he lost through inactivity.
If Pacquiao can puncture Spence with shots like he did against Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto, he has a damn good chance of winning this fight.
Bradley chooses Crawford to stop Spence
“If they fight, I KO Crawford all day,” Bradley told SnowqueenLA when asked who will win between Errol Spence and Crawford. “I caught Crawford through a break.
“People think I’m crazy, but if you look at boxers from the past and even the present, the guys with the better footwork have more to offer.
“Spence is a big guy, yes, he’s solid, he comes up, he can be aggressive. We saw him box against Mikey Garcia.
“He knows he can control the range, but you have a guy like Terence Crawford who can do a little bit of anything, southpaw.
“It brings so much more to the table. Think about it. He has punch in both hands and can fight you from the southpaw position. He can fight you from the orthodox position.
“It can hurt you up to your body. He can hurt you upstairs. There is nothing he cannot do.
“He’s the more versatile fighter and he has the better legs. Spence is a flat footed guy who will take you down on flat feet.
“Crawford is the kind of guy who can move, put his feet up, change direction, and surprise you with gunshots you can’t see. He’s a fantastic counter puncher, ”said Bradley.
This fight will likely never take place due to the advertising issues.
But if it did, Crawford would have a great chance against what we saw of Spence in his last two fights against Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter. Spence doesn’t look like the guy he used to be.
