Fantasy championships weren’t just decided by Alvin Kamara in week 16
For most, the 2020 fantasy football season is in the books. Week 16 usually marks championship week in most formats, and this year many titles are decided by one of the New Orleans Saints’ great fantasy performances that track Alvin Kamara.
He had 155 rushing yards on 22 carries and a remarkable six rushing touchdowns in the Saints’ blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings and their unfortunate defense, helping him finish with 53.2 points in the standard standings. Taking into account his three catches for 17 yards, Kamara had 56.2 points in PPR leagues.
According to CBS Sports, Kamara’s scoring was the highest ever by a single player in championship week. Those fortunate enough to have Kamara on their line-up for the crucial final week are almost certain to toast to a title, while those unlucky enough to face it cursed their misfortune for an almost impossible comeback need to get the crown.
In addition to Kamara’s on-site exhibition, there have been several outstanding performances that likely influenced the direction of the fantasy championships.
The top receiver of the Green Bay Packers again pleaded for the title of the best in his position.
Another talented wideout kept the Dallas Cowboys in the playoff chase with an instrumental performance, while a skilled receiver was key to the New York Jets’ second win in the campaign.
Here we take a look at some of the best performances of Week 16 and evaluate their short-term implications in terms of the daily imagination and what their appearances mean for 2021.
